i was trying to figure out why travis' girlfriend would be okay with him paying this kinda creepy attention to dawn. &my mind went to a dark place, thinking they have some kind of paul bernardo-karla homolka dynamic going on. RUN DAWN! &now i feel icky just thinking about paul&karla. *pukes FOREVER* another reason why ann's complete lack of judgement in this book in regards to dawn taking off with a strange dude is a horrible horrible&dangerous message.

true facts, my older sister read out articles from the newspaper about paul&karla to me around the same year we started reading these books. that was some chilling shit for a little kid to read or hear. that shit was going down around the same time some of these books were written.

i think i need to scroll back up to that adorable kitty gif now. sooo cuuuute.

Ooohhhh. I forgot about those two. I remember seeing a thing about them on Autopsy, I believe. This does read like a kiddie version of that case. In a perfect world, Travis's girlfriend would have been like 'What the Hell is wrong with you?1 We're over!'

my older sister read at least one book about the whole mess, years later (same sister who was reading me articles in the paper while it was all going down), i know at the very least she read a book about karla. &one of my younger sisters wrote a paper (can't remember if it was an essay or a thesis) while she was in university about karla. i actually am seeing that sister today, so i'm going to ask her about it again. way fucked up shit.

if i were travis' girlfriend (shudder at that thought!!) i would've broken the fuck up with him. that's just baffling that she was cool with it. fucking stonerbrook.
