Hey, gals! Y'all ready for more rage? I certainly hope so because oh, my! I'm like, in shock at how very, very terrible this book is. It should be on school must read lists on how not to handle a relationship. How not to handle strangers. How not to parent. How not to be a total ho bag of fail. I had to stop and face palm so much. But I think I'm

So! Ann is perfectly fine with a 13 year old girl going off with a 16 year old stranger --Roseanne Conner would be able to straighten Dawn out. Remember how she ripped into Molly when Molly and Darlene went off to a concert, Molly goes off with a bunch of guys she's never seen before and basically ditches Darlene and Darlene has to get back home on her own. I get not looking at everybody and thinking "You're a pervert." but you gotta have some common sense and realize it's not a very smart idea to go off with somebody you barely know or don't even know at all.
It happens in real fucking life! This is not an okay thing, Ann! --On a serious note, yeah, this is something very important to point out. I know we have somebody to watch out for us when we're kids--either parents, guardians, grandparents, older siblings, teachers, etc, etc. But it really is a dangerous and stupid message to just get in a stranger's car because you got the hots for them.
He takes her to a burger place and when she reaches for the menu, he takes it away from her and says he knows what to order.--Stuff like this makes me want to scream into a pillow. It's not romantic in the least bit. It shows how much of a control freak you are.
Because he's ~*~cute~*~!--I know I've said it before but it's real shame we don't have a real individual in this series. Dawn isn't the one to look to. You can know your own mind, speak your own mind and shouldn't be labeled a "bitch" or a "diva" because you can think for yourself and really go against the tide. I really fear this is the direction they would've veered into if they had Dawn stick with her beliefs and go against the "cute guy". Aren't you the stubborn one!?
Dawn is relieved that he ordered them grilled cheese sandwiches which yeaaah. That's not fucking health food, you fucks.--I guess I will say I'm a bitch because I want to see what happens if a burger and fries are put in front of Dawn's face? I know what will happen--she'll eat it and say it's the most *delicious* meal she's ever eaten.
What I'm saying is that when he's there with his girlfriend, why is he looking for stuff for some kid he isn't even interested in? --I'm sticking with my theory I wrote in the reply to the last snark. I think he's getting pleasure just by leading her own and fucking with her head and laughing about Dawn with his girlfriend. "Just how far can I lead this little girl on?" Yeah, it's a sick attitude but it's the only one that makes sense to me.
Get annoyed with her--But he's just so cute and good looking! What does this say when a guy gets annoyed at you for standing up for yourself, Dawn? Run! Run far away and don't look back!
I'm so glad Richard and Sharon are rightfully ripping into Dawn. Again, it's nice to see logic in these books.
You make a poor decision and it's Mary Anne's fault?! --Stacey and Dawn are two peas in a pod. They both love to blame others for the shitty decisions they make.
That would be better left to a good author, seeing as Ann wouldn't know how to write an asshole being called out if her life depended on it.--lmfao!
Still enjoying the snark and can't wait for the next part! :)

I'm also curious on what she would have done had he ordered a burger. I know in the summer camp book, she ate a hot dog because there was nothing else. So, I also think she would have eaten it and not complain. And I HATE that a girl standing up for herself is seen as being a bitch. Really great lessons there, Ann!
