Elizabeth, Charlie, Sam, and Kristy could all win the bad day contest with the day that Patrick Thomas abandoned them (David Michael would have been too young to remember). It's just one bad thing, not fourteen, but I think it trumps the inconveniences. I'll grant that they were annoying, but they're nowhere near spousal/parental abandonment.
Every time i read a snark about this book or read the actual book it annoys me that Andrew's god parents sent him a package to the BH.. I know its a contrived plot device, but it makes no sense that they would send mail to a house is his at for 96 hours a month, as opposed to the house he actually lives in. if it did not come on Sat he'd have to wait another 2 weeks before getting the present... it makes no sense, at all.
Re: Andrew getting gifts at his father's house... For me,I'm not used to the fact that the US Postal Service delivers mail on weekends. I live in Canada, and there's no way in hell Canada Post would ever consider delivering a package on a weekend. On the other hand, if Andrew and Karen don't see/talk to their godparents often, it makes sense that they would send Andrew's gift to their father's house, depending on how close they were to the Brewers, in my opinion. When Lisa moved out, we never know WHO exactly would be notified first, again, depending on how close they were to Lisa and Watson.
(Fun Fact: When I was little and first read these books, I always thought Watson's name was "Bruce". I have NO idea why.. My Grandma Doreen used to read these books to me when I was little, and I guess I must have misheard Watson's name. Don't ask me where I get "Bruce" from "Watson", though!)
Her brattiness is EPIC. Great snark, love it. Snark another Karen book please. :)
Also... THIS: There are times when I’m reading this really good book and I’m torn between finishing the book and going to bed because I’m getting tired. If I decide to go to sleep, the first thing I do when I get up is grab the book. Or maybe I don’t feel like leaving my room and interacting with anyone so I just lie in bed and read.
