LS #8: Karen's Haircut, Chapters 1-5

I re-read this one not too long ago, and...oh, dear. I'm not sure if I've ever cringed more while reading something. This might be difficult to snark in some places, but I don't think I'll have too much trouble with it.

And onward we go!

Chapters 1-5 behind the cut )

I was also a victim of a bad haircut (although nothing as terrible as Karen's mullet lol) and so this book always made me feel sympathetic for her, even though she was pretty obnoxious.

Ugh. All that tooth pulling makes me nauseous. I hated loosing teeth when I was little and never had the guts to pull one. Now I just hate having dreams where my teeth fall out. So gross and stressing.

I can't say I feel too bad for Karen in this. She annoys the Hell out of me so this is all just delicious schadenfreude. Because I'm a terrible person.

Yeah, I'd be gushing twin tear fountains if it was Natalie or even Hannie or Nancy, but with Karen I'm just like "HA HA KAREN GOT A MULLET."

I just realized something. This book involves both a haircut and loose teeth. A possible reference to when barbers were also dentists back in ye olde days? :)

What happened to lost teeth being status symbols like the good lord of elementary school intended?

Haha, I was wondering that. I had a weird thing where NONE of my baby teeth fell out by themselves, so I literally never had a loose tooth experience, but I remember it being something kids would show off and brag about.

Also, as part of my weirdness, I had to have my eight front baby teeth pulled at the same time. And yes, Karen, I wore glasses AND I was chubby and ginger. My square fangs were the least of my problems.
