Author's notes: This is what Nick Carter's fucking done to me. Um.
Tuesday Afternoon
Nick’s pounding heart returned to its regular rhythm. He propped himself on his elbows and watched as AJ dangled a cigarette between his lips before lighting it. AJ inhaled longer than usual, as he often did after a good fuck, and let the smoke passively escape from his mouth before blowing out the rest. He looked over at the bed, catching Nick’s stare. AJ reached for a shirt on the ground and tossed it to him.
“You should probably go.” AJ took another long drag.
Nick looked at the shirt that now covered his feet. He frowned, almost pouted, as he reached for it. “At least give me a minute before you kick me out.” His voice cracked a little.
AJ pulled on a pair of boxers. “I’m not kicking you out. I just-”
“You have to meet Brian,” Nick finished for him, pulling the shirt over his head, too frustrated to care that it was inside out. He stared at AJ’s bare torso, at the skin between the top of the boxers and the bottom of that damn 69 tattoo.
“What? Why are you just sitting there?”
Nick cleared his throat. “Those are my boxers,” he spoke quietly, barely above a whisper.
AJ held the cigarette in his mouth as he stripped of the boxers and threw them in Nick’s direction. Nick stood up to put them on, following with his jeans. He didn’t usually wear underwear; he just liked the games that ensued when he did. It was another obstacle for AJ to conquer before reaching his ultimate goal. Nick loved how AJ begged him to “hurry up and get naked” with unmatchable urgency. One time he wore a pair of briefs under his boxers to tease him. AJ nearly took out a chunk of his skin when he bit his hip upon the discovery. Nick’s eyes definitely swelled up with tears of pain, but he was so taken by AJ’s want-his need-that he didn’t care. He liked when AJ wanted him, he lived for when AJ needed him.
Nick slipped into his shoes and left without a kiss, without a word or a single glance. It never lasted as long Nick wanted, but it was always longer than AJ expected.
