Some things I forgot...
So yeah, I finally found out what award my mother is getting on Monday. THis is an excerpt from an email she sent to most of our family members. As an aside, when did my mother discover how to send mass emails? As another aside, my grandparents (who are approaching 80) have EMAIL. I know I shouldn't be so surprised because everyone in my family is moderately modern (my mom set up her iPod nano by herself), but yeah, I really am a terrible (grand)daughter.
I want to announce a happy news: I have just been selected to be honored together with other Asian Pacific American woman leaders on Monday May 15, 2006 at the White house, followed by a luncheon at the Ronald Reagan international building and conference center and meeting with the legislative branch at the Capitol in Washington DC.
My mother is a rockstar.
But yeah, I talk to my mom on AIM sometimes. Sadly. Today online, I asked her if my dad was going to make her food tomorrow for Mother's Day. She replied: Fat chance.
Other news, as stated earlier, my parents and I will be meeting up with my grandma's brother in Budapest, but now my uncle that lives in Germany is going to meet us there too. I'm totally excited, he is so rad. He's like the hip uncle...the Uncle Jesse of sorts. He's got a Harley and he wrote me an email that was like, 'text me back on my blackberry.' My Aunt is coming with him, and unfortunately their kids are busy with school so they can't.
And yeah, a few months ago, I started a Kansas City food blog at www.kcfoodie.blogspot.com. Go to it, comment, tell me where to eat. I am that bored.
