Just got home today from fabulous Tampa, Florida. The weather was not too great there. Although it was warm, it was cloudy, so I am home and without any more color then what I left with.

It just so happens that one of the teams we competed against in the Co-Ed Level 4 division, was the Grand Champion of last year's competition. For those of you who dont cheer, it means that they did not only win they're division but won the whole entire competition. Well.. it turned out that on day one of the two day competition we were ahead of them by .35 of a point. The second day was nerve wracking because we knew that if we did not perform better than the first that we would lose. The worst part of any competition, from dance to gymnastics to cheerleading, is waiting for the music to start. Those few seconds of silence before the music starts, you feel as if you could wet your pants for hours without end. Your insides are jumping out, and you just want to get it over with. Lets just say that we did amazing the second day, and kicked the ex-Grand Champs asses all over the floor. Being announced as the National Champions really made my day. Having them giving us dirty looks just made me feel like the best person on the face of the earth knowing that they were stepped on like a bug.

Next, the competition took the top 6 highest scoring National Champions to compete head to head for the title of Grand Champions. Our team had already accomplished our set goal of ending ahead of the Florida Wildcats (ex g-champs) so this round was all about having fun. Did I forget to mention that the first place team got to go to the fabulous Las Vegas and compete in the World Championships for free? OH yeah.. well the winner got to do that. So we competed again, this time less stress because we had alread reached our destination. Awards came, it was down to two more teams. First and second. Tamps Bay Allstars, and Star Athletics Allstars (me). We came in second. By .3 of a point. However, I believe that the better team won and am happy with the results. Never did I dream that we would get so close to winning Grand Champs, especially because the last National competition my coach called us an embarassement to the gym.

Anyways, I'm home. Not excited to go to school tomorrow. But home nonetheless.
