Deal with THAT.
I stayed up late to write last night, and ended up basically staring at the screen for two hours. I hate that. So not only am I tired today, I also didn't get anything accomplished, and grrr. Fandom is also making me cranky at the moment. In my more lucid moments, I'm aware that fandom is really just a big Rorschach test for all of us, and that we all see everything through the lens of our own issues and biases. But then there are the times when I just can't understand why everyone can't just adopt my issues and biases, because they are SO CLEARLY right. Hee.
Anyway, in an attempt to derail my grumpiness, here are some things that are making me happy today:
- Jeffrey Foucault is playing here on February 22! EEEEEE! And then Peter Mulvey will be here in March. If we could just get Kris Delmhorst to come back here, we'd have the trifecta. (Of course, my real dream is for them to all come back through together again, but failing that, I'm very happy to see them all individually.)
- One of my good friends from high school-who I've been wanting to get back in touch with for years-found me yesterday through another friend from high school, and it turns out that he lives in the Seattle area, so we're going to try to get together soon. Yay! Of course, he could have turned into a complete douchebag, but hopefully not.
- I have happy things wending their way to me through the mail: S1 of Slings and Arrows and the Best T-Shirt Ever.
- Dean Winchester shares my love of Terminator 2. Dean, honey, you can come watch that on my couch anytime. We could also watch baseball. In between bouts of hot sexing, of course.
- devilpiglet got her power back! YAY!
- We appear to be having our annual false spring, where it's sunny and mid-fifties for a few days before we descend back into rain and gloom for another couple of months. It's a dirty lie, but I don’t care; I'm going for a walk at lunch today to enjoy it.

- We have our room reservations for Dragon*Con (thanks to people much more on the ball than I am), which I'm really excited about. I've never been to a con before, and I was going to go last year, but then I had to cancel, but this year? I am so there. Though getting sdwolfpup, danceswithwords, and asta77 and I in one place always sort of seems like a lightning rod for disaster, but then, I have confidence that it will be a fun disaster, so. Woo!
- I defy anyone to watch this SPN vid and not smile. N'awww, boys.
