Hee!

My friend/co-worker's wife is in labor as I write this, and he just emailed me with an update because THERE'S A WIRELESS LAN IN THE BIRTHING SUITE. For some reason, this just cracks me up to no end. Oh, modern technology.

OK, I thought it was bad when we were all in a room together and on our laptops, but I think this tops that. I'm sensing a group e-mail as soon as the kid is out. ;p

Yeah, that was pretty bad, but so is this. Hee. Though in fairness to him, I think they're in the watch-and-wait contractions stage, so he's probably just burning nervous energy. He's a crazy planner, and I think the unpredictability of this is killing him.

Also, are you still thinking of having the opportunity to sit in a room together and be on our laptops sometime this summer? With BSG on hiatus and everyone so busy, I feel so out of touch with you guys! Sniffle.

I know! We all haven't chatted in ages. Of course, we could arrange an IM convo one of these days. But, I would looooove to get together in person. DWW and I were just e-mailing each other about that! We were talking early/mid June possibly, but wanted to touch base with you and SDW and what your schedules look like for stalking site seeing purposes. ;)

Yes, we should try to arrange an IM chat! But the in-person thing would be better. :) I'm pretty free this summer, so I think SDW is the better person to ask... I think she's going to be traveling some for work.

Heh, I remember reading somewhere about baby websites (NYT, I think). Parents rushing to buy up domain names and blogging and etc.

Btw, this is totally off topic, how is Merc? Did he get the ring worm diagnosis?

HA. Why am I not surprised? As I said to Asta, in this case, I think my friend is probably just burning nervous energy, but I can totally see the other scenario with other parents.

And you're so sweet to ask about Merc--he's doing better, thank you! As it turned out, it wasn't ringworm, and wasn't mites or anything the vet could actually see or diagnose specifically, so she gave us some antibiotics and a topical steroid spray, and one of those things must be working because his little bald spot is definitely looking better. :) Plus he was able to go back to daycare as of last Friday, which made all of us very happy. Hee. Anyway, thank you for asking! We may never know exactly what the deal was, but as long as it gets better, I don't really care. :)

How's the weather down there? It's beautiful here today.

Good to hear Merc is getting better! And yay for no ringworm. Skin problems on animals are so hard to treat (how can you explain to them they're not supposed to lick and etc.)

It's been really nice today. Sunny and suprisingly warm. Well, in high 50s, but still a welcome contrast to the freezing grey weekend (one moment sunny, next moment hailing).

Yeah, I'm commenting on this extremely late, but here's hoping they now have wi-fi in my birthing suit and postpartum room. Labour can be such a long process and I may well need the distraction myself in about 8 weeks, lol.

(and yeah, I'll also be sharing baby pics and nonsense, although I refuse to buy a domain for my kiddos. They can pick and buy their own whenever they're ready)
