Uh... OK.

My random work bitching (which, I will grant you, pales in comparison to what many of you have to deal with):

Co-Worker I Hate (hereafter known as CWIH): Can you check a couple of links for me on this webpage I'm working on?
Me: Sure.
(link doesn't work)
CWIH: I just don't know why it's not working.
Me: Is it because there's an apostrophe in the URL?
CWIH: Yes, that's it!
(CWIH fixes problem, then calls person she's designing webpage for)
CWIH: Yeah, I couldn't figure it out, and then I had someone here look at it and all of a sudden I realized: there can't be an apostrophe in the URL!

Uh... yes, CWIH. "All of a sudden you realized" BECAUSE I POINTED IT OUT. And no thank-you, no nothing, just "I knew I had to have someone else look at it in order to jog my brain." Which, again, if by "jog your brain" you mean "figure out the problem for you." And it wouldn't really matter, except this is a woman who routinely takes credit for stuff she doesn't do, which led to a much-bragged-about promotion for her last year. LOVELY.

Fortunately, I can take solace in the fact that she has a cold and empty life that leads her to cling to work as her sole source of validation.

ranting, personal
