JAG question

Apr 22, 2003 12:37

Did y'all know that JAG is on four times a day? And if you have TiVo, you can record them all?! Or, if you're me, your fiance can record them all, then watch hours upon hours of jingoistic military goodness. (I suppose this is my payback for making him watch hours and hours of Buffy reruns on FX ( Read more... )

Not yet. Apparently they were planning on some making out (ok, they said "take their relationship a little further"), but the actress (Catherine Bell) got pregnant and now they had to change the entire storyline for the season.

We are, apparently, getting shippy goodness for the finale, but that might simply be a hug or another closed lips kiss (like they had on a Christmas episode). Oh, and she has already admitted to Sturgis that she's in love with Harm.

...but the actress (Catherine Bell) got pregnant...

Really? Huh. How inconsiderate of her. :) Couldn't they just say she was impregnated by aliens or something? ;)

A HUG?! does not count as shippy goodness. Not after seven freakin' years, or however long they've been on the air.

But thanks for the update. :)

The show has been on air for 8 years, but during the first season, Mac wasn't in it. It was another female character (Meg, I believe) who died in the end of the season.

Oooh, there was an episode where they did admit they loved each other when Mac was getting engaged to Mic... and they even kisses with some tongue. The entire episode was a shipper's wet dream (without, you know, actual sex).

Ooh. Sounds good. And we shouldn't be that far away from that one... just saw the Christmas kiss. LAME. Though you can hardly blame Harm--Mac's outfit in that scene was hideous. Huge red lapels are nobody's friend.

Bwahahaha. They do, a few times during the entire period of the show. But I have no idea where you are :) And apart from that, they're one of the all-time great Will They Or Won't They? couples, only worse, cos they do and then don't. It's frustrating.

Still, love JAG. And hi :)

Hey! Yeah, I have no idea where I am in the timeline, either... a couple of years back, I think, since our TiVo says the air dates are around 2000. (Though we get some from 1997 as well, and some from 2003.) Basically, what got me curious was when they were in Australia, right before Brumby proposes to Mac (and what was that about? Had they ever even gone on a date?), and Harm and Mac are on the boat and she's talking about (basically) how emotionally repressed he is, and he's all smoldersmolderdeepmeaningfullook "Only with you, Sarah," smoldersmolder. And I thought, hmm, I could get on board that 'ship.

So what's the deal? Why can't they have the hot monkey lovin'? I assume there's the all-too-familiar issue of protocol, but I get the feeling there's more to it. What are Harm's issues, exactly?

Nice to see you, BTW... I noticed you hadn't been around here lately, then checked your blog and realized why. :)

Hee. Whoops, sorry bout the disappearance. But dude, that is like... favourite ep. Ever. I would give you a nice long list of whys, but... I do not know.

Yeah, I hated Brumby. He was too overdone. Whatever. I don't think there were really... issues, but generally, and I'm digging here, each was attached at some point. Mac had Brumby, Harm had Renee or whoever... and it just kept getting worse from there. You'll be happy to know they made out the night before the wedding, though... or at the engagement party... I don't know. Whichever, there was mucho, mucho smoldersmolder... and then the season ended. I was ready to shoot someone. But yeah, basically, there's always something in the way. Or... something. Why yes, I am rambling, could you tell? Protocol, shmotocol ( ... )

Ooh! I asked Celli, know-all of the JAG stuff. Harm's issues, quote-unquote:

aliasCelli: He has some serious committment issues. SERIOUS.
aliasCelli: He's worried about the effect on their careers.

... and:

aliasCelli: Also, he used to be in love with Mac's doppelganger, Diane, and it catches him at odd moments.
aliasCelli: I think that's everything. Maybe.

Clears things up for me, too. Hee. :)
