But it's a fact that I'm the seventh son

Before I get into my Jack White concert report, I wanted to share this, from a review of Blunderbuss (in reference to “Weep Themselves To Sleep”):

The melody’s mostly monotonous, but Jack pumps it with gallons of swagger. The drums would make Meg White proud, the way they sucker-punch the groove. Jack’s solo slaughters, especially on headphones, ( Read more... )

Holy fucking SHIT girl, this was just like reading the hottest fic ever *____________* HOW DO YOU MAKE SUCH BEAUTIFUL WORDS. NEVER MIND TWO TESLA COILS DECIDING WHETHER THEY SHOULD FUCK, I AM JUST GOING TO SAVE THIS POST AND RE-READ YOUR DESCRIPTIONS OF THIS SET. Hnnnnnnnnnngggghhhh. I am absolute shit at putting to words the feelings that music (especially music of the electric guitar variety) gives me, but you do it PERFECTLY, reading this felt like reliving the whole night. SO THANK YOU.

YES, Jack totally DID move like a puppet whose strings are held by a distracted kid, LOL, which was kind of endearing, and I was TOTALLY feeling Jimmy's whisper before the thunder too, mmm the way you word it:

it felt like being under constant centrifugal force, and sometimes you were close to the center and sometimes you were spinning right out on the edge, just on the verge of losing control, but always tethered to that same unshakeable central point. It was an incredible, viscerally powerful feeling, and it was definitely one of my overwhelming, lasting impressions of the show. Like I said: IMPRESSIVE AS HELL.

Oh my god YES. And I will just never ever EVER be over Slowly Turning Into You (the thready tension of Jack’s voice, right on the edge of control hnnngggggh yes yes yes) and Ball and Biscuit, FUCKKKKK. WHAT A FUCKING EXPERIENCE. "PURE FILTHY BLUES SEX" INDEED. I was really not expecting to get either of those songs at ALL, but I love them such an unhealthy amount, I felt SPOILED.

And Jack got his guitar cord tangled around one of Carla’s cymbals at the end and actually pulled it over (which fortunately didn’t matter because it was the end of the set anyway), and it was kind of like, yep, that seems about right, let’s just DESTROY EVERYTHING, I’m done, I can’t, there is no more. IT WAS INTENSE. IS THE THING.

YUP. PRETTY MUCH. I STILL FEEL A LITTLE DESTROYED. Ugh, and singing along to the bass part of Seven Nation Army and the spectacular ladies onstage and just EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. <3___________________<3

Also that part where it was an entire weekend of awesome times with you! LOL. That part was fucking amaaaaaazing. Mmmmm. Come visit ANYTIME, girl. ♥

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I AM SO GLAD YOU ENJOYED ALL OF MY WORDY RIDICULOUSNESS. <333333 I definitely look at concert reports as a writing exercise, and it makes me so happy that other people get stuff out of them!

It was TOTALLY endearing. And HOT. I'm not sure how he managed that, but he ABSOLUTELY DID.

I was really not expecting to get either of those songs at ALL, but I love them such an unhealthy amount, I felt SPOILED.

RIGHT? EXACTLY. The whole set list was just SO AMAZING, but Ball and Biscuit, man, I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING AND IT KIND OF MADE MY LIFE. *___* I still feel destroyed too! AGH. CAN WE FIND A TIME MACHINE AND GO BACK AND DO THAT ALL AGAIN, PLEASE? INCLUDING the amazing weekend before that! I loooooooooooove visiting you and I am really glad that you enjoy it, too, because I will absolutely take you up on that offer. ♥ ♥ ♥
