YESSS. I think I just happened to see Nick and Nora before I saw that. But YES.
I think they wanted subtext there because Thor/Sif is the pairing in the comics
OH GOD REALLY? OH MAN. I COULD TOTALLY BE ON BOARD WITH THAT. I am just so conflicted because FRIENDS but also REALLY HOT and FRIENDS. You know? I mean, obviously, I don't have to CHOOSE (multiple! branching! universes!), I just don't think I have ever simultaneously shipped and kind of actively NOT shipped a pairing before, and it is a strange feeling! HEE.
I LOVED how his arc wasn't just about jealousy but about having his identity yoinked from under him and WHAT THE HELL WAS HE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT? Complex, layered villains who aren't necessarily villainous?
YES YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I think that Loki has good in his heart the same way Thor does, that was just a LOT of SERIOUS SHIT for him to deal with all at once and, um, mistakes were made. THIS, basically: I should not be wanting to smish you to my bosom because you tried to kill THOR and his SMILE and his CHEST and his 'give me a HORSE', but I DO, DAMN YOUR EYES. HI. YES. THAT. And that scene where he confronts Odin about his true identity? With his FACE? And his EYES? GAAAAAH. *SMISHES* And I think that multi-dimensionality was all the more welcome to me because the setup at the beginning is so obvious: one child with blond hair! One with dark hair! WHO WILL BE EVIL? HMMMM. So the fact that it was actually a lot more complex than that was a very pleasant surprise.
And yes yes YES about Asgard, that is such an awesome observation!
