GUYS. I HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT THOR. THAT WAS AWESOME. My favorite superhero movie since Batman Begins, by a LONG shot.
Disclaimer: I have not read any of the comics (aside from the occasional scan on scans_daily), and my knowledge of Norse mythology is extremely limited. So.
(
spoilers and flailing )
OMG HAAAAWKEYE!!! And you know how I already have an EPIC crush because bow and arrow, man! /archery flailing
ANDANDAND SIF. I think they wanted subtext there because Thor/Sif is the pairing in the comics, so. ANYWAY. SO HOT. (They would make such pretty babies, for srs.)
Oh fuck YOU, sir. THAT IS NOT OKAY. (I LOVE YOU.)
LOLOLOLOLOL INORITE?
And LOKI. GOD. I LOVED how his arc wasn't just about jealousy but about having his identity yoinked from under him and WHAT THE HELL WAS HE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THAT? Complex, layered villains who aren't necessarily villainous? DO WANT. Dear Tom Hiddleston, I should not be wanting to smish you to my bosom because you tried to kill THOR and his SMILE and his CHEST and his 'give me a HORSE', but I DO, DAMN YOUR EYES.
I freaking LOVED Asgard. The costumes, not so much at times. But the sweeping CGI shots? Quotes myself because it is easier than coherency: One of the things I loved about it was the mixture of architecture from absolutely ancient to this modern, floating, spinning thing that never got, nor required, an explanation. One of the things I have issues with in terms of fantasy cities is the homogeneity of design. Like, there are few places on earth that are absolutely uniform. Cities grow up, develop, change, styles of architecture rise and fall, buildings crumble, different ones are built on the ruins--we don't usually get to see the impact of that. But Asgard shows it. I really liked that.
ANYWAY. WHAT I AM SAYING IS OMG THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR.
Hee, least coherent commenting EVER.
(How 'bout you mud wrestle some more now, Thor?)

YESSS. I think I just happened to see Nick and Nora before I saw that. But YES.

OH GOD REALLY? OH MAN. I COULD TOTALLY BE ON BOARD WITH THAT. I am just so conflicted because FRIENDS but also REALLY HOT and FRIENDS. You know? I mean, obviously, I don't have to CHOOSE (multiple! branching! universes!), I just don't think I have ever simultaneously shipped and kind of actively NOT shipped a pairing before, and it is a strange feeling! HEE.

YES YES YES YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. I think that Loki has good in his heart the same way Thor does, that was just a LOT of SERIOUS SHIT for him to deal with all at once and, um, mistakes were made. THIS, basically: I should not be wanting to smish you to my bosom because you tried to kill THOR and his SMILE and his CHEST and his 'give me a HORSE', but I DO, DAMN YOUR EYES. HI. YES. THAT. And that scene where he confronts Odin about his true identity? With his FACE? And his EYES? GAAAAAH. *SMISHES* And I think that multi-dimensionality was all the more welcome to me because the setup at the beginning is so obvious: one child with blond hair! One with dark hair! WHO WILL BE EVIL? HMMMM. So the fact that it was actually a lot more complex than that was a very pleasant surprise.
And yes yes YES about Asgard, that is such an awesome observation!
How 'bout you mud wrestle some more now, Thor?
LOL right? THANKS FOR THAT.
WHAT I AM SAYING IS OMG THOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR.
THAT IS WHAT MY HEART HAS BEEN SAYING FOR THE PAST 16 HOURS OR SO. ♥_♥
