I am feeling vaguely and unaccountably emo today. And annoyed, because we are supposed to meet my in-laws for dinner tonight and we have no idea when, because they're in Canada and are going to call us when they cross the border. I also have no idea when they're coming over for dinner tomorrow night, which is slightly more of a concern because

You know how to make a girl happy.
I used to be very uptight and strict about time tables. I guess I've learned that things are going to happen how they happen no matter how upset I get, so I might as well go with the flow.
You are making dinner? You could try to plan something that is not time sensitive. Like making tacos or something. You can prepare all the ingredients ahead of time and assemble them when people arrive. Same thing with grilling. You can have the sides finished and throw the meat on the grill once they get there. That way you don't have to worry about things getting cold or going bad.
I hope you have a great time!

And yes, you're totally right, and normally I'm a pretty go-with-the-flow person, but just my in-laws get me all uptight. :/ You're right, though, I should just let it go. And you are also very smart about the food stuff, though we've already bought groceries for what we're going to have and it's not very make-ahead-able. But I can do SOME prep ahead of time, which I will definitely do as soon as I get home tomorrow. Thank you! *smish*

Yeah. For a while I ended up saying Fuck it and insisted that we go out so I wouldn't have to make something. Haha.
Well, I hope it helps for the future!

I know right? And we have done that a LOT, just that my in-laws are kind of fascinated by the novelty of having their children cook for them (neither Mr. McK nor his brother have any cooking experience, because their mom never let them in the kitchen because it was too much trouble to teach them to do things the "right" way), so. I like to do it when I can. It just helps to know WHEN. Hee.

Hello.....David's mouth.....and David's tongue. And, hey, David's lips....I seem to have an oral fixation fixation.
This is a nice thing to return home to.
(My Mother in Law is descending for like a week and a half next month. This will not end well.)
