1. I watched four episodes of BSG this weekend, so now I am only two episodes behind. \o/
2. Some news on Terminator: Salvation: a
new trailer, and
a few factoids from Yahoo (includes casting spoilers and a couple of mentions of the types of machines we'll see). I am cautiously optimistic about this movie, even though IT WOULD BE NICE IF YAHOO COULD SPELL "CONNOR" RIGHT. Sheesh. Also, between the movies and TSCC, my brain is starting to hurt with the revolving door of casting changes. Five Johns (at least-is there a flash-forward in Terminator? I can't remember), two Sarahs, three Kyles, two Kates… seriously, people? I suppose there's something meta that could be done with that-branching futures, alternate timelines-but it's a weird effect nonetheless. I wonder, too, if the series is ever going to try to hook up with the future movie continuity, or if it's just going to be its own thing. It'll be interesting to see.
3. I've been in a Farscape mood lately, so last night while I was making some food for the week (including epic brussels sprouts fail-oops! though at least I know what to do differently next time), I watched Nerve, The Hidden Memory, and Family Ties. They never get less awesome. SHOW. *hugs it*
4. Because I'm always happy to discover lines that I have regarding Hugh Dillon, I'm pleased to report that I'm pretty sure I wouldn't actually
chase him to a urinal, even if I had the appropriate equipment. \o? (Of course, in the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that at Dragon*Con a couple of years ago, I did go to the bathroom after Claudia Black's Q&A because I legitimately had to pee, but also with the thought in my mind that Claudia was about seventeen months pregnant at the time, and therefore not unlikely to be headed the same direction. HOWEVER. I can state with a reasonable amount of surety that if I had seen her heading toward the bathroom, I would not have followed her in there for no reason. I ALSO would have let her have her own STALL. See? I'm like a model of restraint, you guys.) (ETA: I was actually not meaning to pile on the guy in that blog post. I was really just geniunely pleased to discover that there are things I won't do even for Hugh. /dork)
5. Jeffrey Foucault's new album is EXCELLENT. I really like most of the songs he chose--and wow, I can definitely see how John Prine has influenced him--and the... *tries and fails to come up with technical term* ... the way it's recorded is really cool; it has the same flavor as a live performance, somehow, that intimacy and richness. It's awesome.
6.
GoFugYourself deploys the Dawson!crying!face. AMAZING.
Okay, this was all more interesting in my head. It seems like every time I open an update window or email window lately, I become The Amazing Pancake Girl, speaking to you from the Griddle of Flatness. Sorry. I'll try for waffles next time!
