"Who names a knife 'Justice'?" "Who names a knife ANYTHING?"

I should not even be posting, since I'm behind on comments, but I just wanted to say a couple of things:

- DS Seekrit Santa-type person! I will have a "Dear You" letter very soon! But I am easy to please, and given my pairing choices, it's fairly likely that we know each other anyway, so hopefully you are not too much at sea. ♥ But I will write a letter ASAP.

- SPN last night was adorable. It was nice to get a standalone ep, since the show has been pretty mytharc-heavy lately, what with all the season-ending/season-beginning stuff. And though I can't help but feel like it was a tiny bit of a waste of the impressive combined talents of Ben Edlund and Robert Singer (also, hi, I just got the Bobby Singer --> Robert Singer thing, like, a few weeks ago, because I am JUST THAT BRIGHT), it was a very cute episode. The boys looked excellent in B&W, and I loved Jamie (minim_calibre described her as Dean's version of Sarah, and I totally agree), and GO DEAN, with the getting some from a quality woman. *g* And it's always fun when SPN does these stylized episodes. And it was anvilicious as always, with the "things are never as simple as they are in the movies," but it's a kind of anviliciousness that makes me hope the season is going to a more morally ambiguous place than I had feared, so. I enjoyed it!

- belmanoir and mrs_laugh_track and I watched Who Named the Knife the other night, and it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen, but Hugh and Callum were hot in it, and there was femmeslash potential sadly squandered by the fact that I could not stand the main characters. But Callum didn't even TRY to kill anyone! I was so happy for him! Hee. And Hugh was just… WRONGLY hot. All evilly sexy. Rrrrrowr. There was one scene-the scene where Annabeth Gish visits him in prison, for those of you who watched it-that we had to watch SEVERAL times. Whew. And he said "incarcerated," and that was good times (though possibly not quite as good as when he said "Of course I lied, I lied outrageously" in the earlier portion of the movie, which was awesomely, hysterically Hugh ♥ ). Sadly, the rest of the movie was terrible, and Annabeth Gish and Chandra West-both of whom I've liked in other things-were saddled with a horrendous script, and all their femmeslashy potential was ruined by their characters' relentless self-absorption. Such a waste! But still: the hotness was worth the price of admission, totally.

- I also watched the second episode of The O.C. last night, and it continued to be adorable. It's funny that it actually makes me happy in the same "yay, cuteness!" way that Chuck does, which may be because, hey! Josh Schwartz! As I realized last night. And I just… the way Ryan looks at Seth, the way he entirely appreciates Seth's dorktasticness for the excellent quality that it is? That goes a LONG way toward mitigating his emo-ness, for me. And the way they are SO ENTIRELY IN LOVE AFTER ONLY TWO EPISODES? Eeeeee! (I will say, though, that The O.C. does not get to use "Hallelujah" in any way, shape or form. You are not at that level of angst, O.C.! I am sorry!) So, yes. YAY.

- The Office last night was also very good, as usual. Very painful to watch Jan be so awful to Michael-"I don't want you but I don't want anyone else to have you either" is a HUGE button of mine, so I was delighted to see Michael hopefully pulling his head out of his ass and seeing how perfect Holly is for him. I also loved the final non-conversation between Jim and Pam; I worry very much that this separation is going to become a problem for them in the long run, but I loved the way they dealt with it here, that missing connections doesn't mean they're not connected. Beautifully done. I know at some point I should stop being impressed at this show's gift for subtle character and relationship development, but it hasn't happened yet. And Dwight with the $1200 baby carriage was just… oh, DWIGHT. ♥

Hmm, I had more to say than I thought. Oops.

We are off to visit the in-laws for the weekend, so I will be well and truly AFK, as they are in dialup boondock hell. (In its defense, dialup boondock hell is actually quite lovely.) Be good, have fun!
