Nine things and one other thing
LALALA, none of you are around, but it is Friday afternoon and SOME OF US don't get to go home for a while yet, so.
HELLO.
Have a list:
1. Happy belated birthday to musesfool, and happy today birthday to one of my favorite shiny brainy squeeful fandom butterflies, the wonderful sansets! I CANNOT WAIT to see you at CanCon, sweetie! And this time we will HANG OUT. SRSLY! *smishes you*
2. I am, like everyone else, thoroughly enjoying Dr. Horrible. Nathan Fillion is, of course, MADE ENTIRELY OF AWESOME, and I forget what a lovely voice NPH has--I saw him as Mark in RENT several years ago and he was excellent, so I'm not surprised that he's so good here, but it's really fun to see. And I like Felicia Day, too! (Even if some of her songs remind me of Lulu's "Trying To Be Heard" solo from East Hastings. What? IT'S TOTALLY TRUE. And I liked that song! I'm just saying.) I think I've even convinced Mr. McK to watch it, even though he hates musicals and also Joss (he has massive Serenity trauma, poor boy). I'm not sure I'll be able to catch the final installment tonight, but I'm looking forward to seeing it as soon as possible! I'm really curious as to who Bad Horse is going to turn out to be (assuming we meet him/her at some point, which... we may not! But it sort of seems like they're hinting that way, yeah?). I'm actually wondering if it might be Felicia Day's character? That would be kind of awesome. Though it wouldn't really make a lot of sense. But I'm kind of waiting for the big reveal, there, and very curious!
3. I was saddened by last night's cuts from SYTYCD. America, sometimes you are stupid.
4. I really liked last/this week's ep of In Plain Sight. I don't think this was entirely due to the guest spot by Percy Daggs III (WALLACE I LOVE YOU), but that certainly didn't hurt at all.
5. I am off to Vancouver tomorrow to hang with troyswann and Sig and Shakespeare! EEEEE! I will have to go to bed early tonight because I am planning to get up at like 4:30 tomorrow morning (I don't even think Saturday HAS 4:30 in the morning, does it? I have certainly never experienced it, though I have experienced four and a half hours after midnight on Friday night). So if you see me online past, like, 10? Please kick me. I'm driving by myself and I would like to be, you know. Awake. I am also excited because I somehow stupidly got confused and booked a hotel on the other side of the wooooooorld from Sal and Sig (that is not the exciting part), but Sal is supersmart and has her shit together and suggested a different one that is right next to where they're staying, and it's the same price as the really far away one (that is the exciting part). YAY! YAY for supersmart friends. And cheap (for Vancouver, which is really not cheap at all), slightly sketchy-looking hotels. \o/
6. As a result of 5, I will probably be the last person on LJ to see The Dark Knight. Please don't spoil me! (I know you won't. I'm just saying anyway.) We're actually going as a team-building activity for work next Wednesday. \o/ Though Mr. McK and I may also go Tuesday night if we can swing it, because. DARK KNIGHT OMG!
7. I have wordupthome on my RSS feed, and I haven't gotten anything on it for months, and now all of a sudden I'm getting spammed with tons of (old) stuff. WTF?
8. YAY DS MATCH! (And BTW, it turns out that DS Match admin has a way of eating one's life periodically, so if you're not seeing much of me, that's probably why.)
9. So there's some show on tonight? With some guy? Some Canadian rockstar guy? I dunno. It seems like I'd like it okay. If you also think you'd like it okay, keep an eye on theconstabulary: I believe the lovely vsee is organizing a chat, and myhappyface expressed interest in a reaction-roundup post, so. Keep your sights on the comm! (See what I did there?) (I won't watch till the weekend 'cause I promised Sal I would wait for her. And THAT tells you how much I love Sal, because OMG. *graspy hands*) (This also makes me realize how much I am unused to having readily available--in North America, anyway--open canon in this fandom. What? New episodes every WEEK? SERIOUSLY? How does that work?!)
9a. I read on a friend's post that the Flashpoint cast was in the audience for Canadian Idol recently. I don't know if that included Hugh, but can we all just take a moment to ponder Hugh? In the audience for CANADIAN IDOL? I... wow. (I'd think he'd be dismissive of the music but encouraging to the kids? Is my guess. After I REPAIR MY BROKEN BRAIN. Gilbert and Sullivan! Canadian Idol! I sincerely hope he is getting SO MUCH SHIT about this stuff from Trent and Callum his friends. Heeee.)
