Q-Tips, and ABBA and Pizza, oh my!

I had  a dream about Q-Tips last night. It's not the only thing I dreamt about, but for some reason it sticks out. I think what happened is that I got a new package of Q-tips and I was really happy. I'm no Freud, but if I were a betting woman I'd say this dream resembles my need to go out and buy some more Q-Tips cause I'm running kinda low.

I also had a dream where I think I was the main character in my novel...or some incarnation of her. I had her powers. This is actually no surprise cause Ella, my main character, is in many ways me. Of course that's a very loose statement. I after all am no witch, I'm not adopted, I don't have any siblings, I wasn't a cheerleader in highschool and I don't kill demons or see the future. Oh and I don't have violet eyes. There are just bits of me I've sort of infused in her. Taste in music, books, tv. Old habits (we both bite our nails), we like to read...and of course we both have red hair.

I think the thing with writing, at least for me, is that no matter what I do, there will always be a bit of me in every protagonist I write. Write what you know, and I know me better than anyone else on this planet.

When I woke up this morning it was kind of wierd. My mom wasn't here to wake me up! She's doing her first day back at the cruise agency. Tuesday she goes back to her other (real) job. So instead of waking up at a reasonable time, I slept until noon and I had no idea. I woke up, looked at the clock and was like 'oh crap'. I'm going to have to train myself to wake up again!

I'm going through another ABBA phase. This happens to me every few years. I rediscover the ABBA GOLD cd and I listen to it over and over again. I know all the words. Mamma Mia is my favourite song right now. It used to be Take a Chance on Me...but Mamma Mia is just so great. I'm going to go see Mamma Mia (the musical) in April. I'm taking my mommy. We've seen it twice and she wasn't that really into seeing it again, but I'm making her go with me. So I bought tickets this week and I'm really excited. It's the best musical. I can't wait til the movie version comes out this summer. I'll probably pull another Hairspray and see the movie at least 4 times in theatres. My love for Mamma Mia is far more extreme than my love for Hairspray, though, so I might even see it at least half a dozen times!

This post has rambled on far too long. Must go do something useful so my day doesn't go to waste. I'm off to work for 4...another day of resisiting the urge to buy pizza!
