i think it's SUCH a bad idea.

first semester frosh year is the easiest time you'll ever have at bryn mawr, academically speaking. doing it credit/no credit is stupid, because you'll probably end up doing fairly well in all your classes (especially CSEM, the special-ed fifth graders that i student-teach at overbrook elementary could pass that joke of a class...) and you'll regret not having the actual grades show up on your transcript.

i mean, i know it's "not about the grades"...but just simply seeing them there might make you so much prouder of your own achievements.

plus, doing the first semester credit/no credit will make your second semester (one that i actually found to be very challenging) feel like a real shock to your system.

the credit/no credit option is best saved for a requirement that you're really struggling to fulfill (quantitative, foreign language), or a course that interests you but turns out to be more difficult and stressful than you had imagined.
