This is hilarious. Not only have I used one or two of these in the past (surprisingly few, really, in recent efforts) but I recognized a whole bunch of them in books I've read recently...good books that sold well. -)

That's a good list to live by when writing fantasy, I think. Except for the hay baler question...I guess they really meant, did you put hay bales into your story even though it takes a machine to make those, so they would technically be hay STACKs.

I think the hay baler is a reference to Bonanza, which had baled hay in it even though the story takes place before the hay baler was invented.
