Welcome to Bryn Cudyll

Taking a page from mypurplekitchen, I bring you Bryn Cudyll - a journal to follow the remodeling process of our soon-to-be new home. We are remodeling in two stages (first the upstairs living quarters and then the downstairs studios). We hope to be living in the house by mid-July. Downstairs remodeling will continue after we move in.

While visiting Wales last summer, I especially loved the custom of naming one's home. I have a deep connection with Wales and my Celtic ancestry, so I decided to participate in this custom. Bryn Cudyll means Hawk Hill in Welsh, and I am naming the house this because of the beautiful red-tailed hawks that soar in the sky overhead. The entire property - which is 178 acres - is called Red Hawk Ranch. My parents named the ranch back in 1992, when they purchased it. I would like a slate house plaque with Bryn Cudyll carved on it to hang at the front door. These custom house plaques are made from slate that comes from a quarry in Northern Wales. I'm inquiring as to the price of these (including shipping to the US).

Will post photos of the house and property tomorrow!
