I don't get it.
Nick pulled me into the office yesterday and said that my Salon Team has requested a group meeting with him - Specifically, without me.
"Are you comfortable with that?"
No, of course I'm not comfortable with that! WTF is this? But, whether I'm "comfortable" or not, if that's what they want it should be done. But, boy, I sure would like to know what the hell this is all about! Things have been going well back there, we've had a really good month of March! Just Friday Jessy and I were talking about her son's 1st birthday party... Saturday Emily and I were talking about her new pet rat and how she had to show me a bunch of new pictures... Just this morning Tracey, Young, and I spent 15 minutes or more discussing The Walking Dead season 3 finale... We had a busy weekend, but it wasn't "OMFG" crazy or anything, and I was there for most of it in the trenches with them...
Then he asked me if I had said something about Tracey hitting her head...
She had made a comment that she had a headache, and I said "You didn't happen to hit your head, did you?" She said no, and I said "Ok good, just wanted to check. I did that to myself the other day and had a terrible headache later on."
HOW THE FUCK IS THAT OFFENSIVE???? Why would that have been brought up to Nick to be used "against me"?
There are only 2 possibilities that I can think of...
1. It's all an elaborate April Fool's Day joke. (I really don't think Nick would do that...)
2. It all stems from Krysta - The Academy Student I had that couldn't stop cutting dogs and "quit" and had to transfer to another store.
Krysta got mad at me after she decided "I don't want to work with dogs AND sharp objects anymore, so I can't be a groomer anymore." For the remaining 7 shifts at my store I made her a Receptionist based on her decision... "You can answer phones, make appointments for others, do Walk-In's, and help get dogs Checked-In/Checked-Out." She complained that she wanted to be a Bather. "Sorry, I don't have any Bather hours to give you. I'm already over-spending my Bather budget to provide hours for the Bathers we have now." She complained that she wanted to work on the sales floor, and the Ops Manager told her the same thing. We explained that we could see if another store had a position she could fill, and she accepted that.
One store was willing to give her a shot and wanted to schedule an interview. She assumed that meant a guaranteed position there, and when I said "You'll still have to interview, just like any new job to make sure you'll be a good fit for their team," she began the downward spiral of hate towards me. She became flat-out insubordinate towards me, refusing to do the tasks I would give her to try to keep her busy. I would have to ask her 3 times to make reminder calls for the next day's appointments. She would check-in someone else's appointment without verifying some of the key questions, then get made at me when I pointed it out to her. ("Really nice job on HOP there, but I didn't hear you double check the phone number/ask if the pet was under sedation/get the Matted Release initialed/etc.") And then when I decided to try to just not say anything at all (because I clearly couldn't say anything "right,") she accused me of being a bitch! It was a terrible couple of days.
And I was specifically told that at her interview at the other store she said awful things about me. She tried to blame me for everything and made claims about how I picked on her and didn't give her any confidence, etc. (They didn't believe a word of it though!)
If she would say things like that during an interview... People she doesn't know and are potentially offering her a job... I'm fairly certain that she said similar things to her co-workers behind my back.
So this whole secret-meeting thing could all stem from rumors she tried to start... Or not. I won't know anything until Nick tells me next week.
Until then, I have to smile and pretend I don't know anything at all... Continue with business as usual.
I just don't fucking get it!
