senior status
after some late night/ early morning calculations a foew days ago i have discovered that after this semester i will finally be a senior!!!
this is very exciting for me. i've been a junior for nearly four years now (...can that be right?...granted two of them didn't count, but still)
my excitment may seem silly to some, but my life and future have been such an amorphous blob that it was a thrill to put some sort of measurment to it. and to show some definable progress.
in other news, i'm going to ROME this summer. i'm taking a class that meets some during this semester and then finishes the class over two weeks in rome. i am extatic!
and i'm both excited and terrified by the confidence that this decision puts on my leg. the truth is that i'm not sure if it's ready for the kind of use that will be required for walking the streets of rome. it's thrilling that i am able even to hope that it is. i'll take both walking boot and cane with me, but it may not be enough... there may be things that i have to miss.
it's also possible that we may be able to find wheelchairs for me to use...
hopefully i will be able to contain my pride and subconscious enough to sit in one again.
it bothers me that my posts always seem to end with my brain trailing away on some dour note. so with that in mind...
it snowed night before last, around midnight. only the second time in my life that i've seen snow falling! i was so excited, i took pictures.
