Escape...
So... Walmart said they'd offer me a job when the negative results for the drug test came in... Understandable... They don't want to extend an offer then have to retract it when positive results come back... So, yesterday, they left a message on my machine asking if I could come to the Orientation from 8 - 5pm today. So I called work and told them I couldn't be there until 530pm today (I was scheduled 330 - 1130pm Wed, Thur, and Fri)... At the Orientation I was the only person working nights... the human resource manager said stuff like "I'll give you your vests when you come to work tomorrow"... I'm like... Tomorrow... hmmmm....... So I talked to my department manager... and she asked if I could come in tomorrow at 0230am... I was like tomorrow night? She said tomorrow morning... Okay... so right there my brain melts. Noone has yet told me I'm hired (well, I figured 8 hours of Orientation would be paid, and being paid meant being employeed), and noone had yet told me how much I was getting paid... I told my department manager this, and she was surprised... My hourly manager is on vacation, so that's probably why I slipped through the cracks... She told the human resource manager, and the HRM told me later (7.75 with .50c shift difference)... So now my only problem was my work schedule...

I figured I could work something out with my current job, so I didn't have to leave them high and dry all of a sudden... but now, working 230 - 1130am TOMORROW, and 330 - 1130pm tonight and tomorrow night (along with the fact I woke up at 6am to get ready for the orientation...), I knew I wasn't going to last very long, especially since I couldn't figure out when I was going to sleep at all... So I went into work just now... Told the store manager that today would be my last day... she called back in 10 minutes after talking to the district manager and told me to close my register and go home now. So I'm home now, going to sleep, and going to go be a happy Walmart electronic stocker. :D.
