Who do you love?

There's a hopeful Reuter's article here about Bo Diddley's stroke earlier this month, and his current recuperation. Listening to the Originator's songs, it's hard to believe he could ever get old, much less have a stroke that prevents him from speaking. He's 78 and, up till this month, still toured - last summer he was here on the Island, but I didn't get a chance to see him. When he does bounce back, if he ever makes it up this way again, I know I'll have to go. No-one's ever sounded as tough as Bo singing "Who Do You Love," and even if the stroke's thrown him off rhythm, I'm sure he'll regain the beat again soon.

Last night at Chuck Palahniuk's reading, two people fainted. As one might expect, it was during a reading of (the somewhat notorious) "Guts." I'm still not one of the man's devoted fans - unlike many who attended last night - but he sure tells a good story, and he surely cares about the people who are his fans. Not to mention the fact that, despite his reputation for "fucked upped-ness," he seems a fairly mild-mannered fellow.
