I have a similar distrust of GPs, mainly through the professional dealings that I have with them. Had been refraining from saying anything though, as in situations like this all you can do is trust that you're in the best place.

I'm guessing he can't be at home to regulate water intake because he'd have to do that orally, which might still affect the pancreas (pure guesswork though).

Any news on how long hospitalisation might last ?

It can last from a couple of days to weeks/months! Oh joy :s

Neither of us are happy bunnies at the moment.

i can understand his and your frustration at the circumstances in the hospital, but dont let david go home until he is well, pancreatitis can get very serious and if he discharges himself without the consent of doctors he will enevitably end straight back in and have to go through a&e all over again

discuss your complaints with the staff and doctors, and if it doesnt improve ask for a complaints form and they will start taking you a bit more seriously.

if there is anything i can do for either of you, just let me know, you know how to get in touch if you want to talk or anything :)

Going home wasn't really an option. It was more about venting my frustration out when I got home.

Seeing him take a turn for the worse and looking so ill made me rather upset.

Today has been a better day (hopefully will have time to do an update later on tonight).

I can imagine you both must be rather distressed. Hopefully the light at the end of the tunnel will keep on getting closer though.
