Union of Concerned Scientists' Cartoon Contest (and also some comics).

Oh fallow LiveJournal. What to do with you?

250 CCs of comics, that's what.

Remember how a couple of years ago I was part of the Union of Concerned Scientists' Cartoon Contest? Well, it's voting time once again. Though I'm not part of it this year, there are a number of fine entries deserving of your love, affection and votes (or combinations thereof). James MacLeod (who won the year I was involved) has an entry (#2) that perfectly captures the linguistic jujitsu politicians use to frame debates of public interest. (Swap a few key words and his comic could be about health-care or abortion rights.) Though I won't tell you how to vote, I will tell you *I* voted for his!

Even with a White House ostensibly favorable towards science, this is a matter of continuing importance!

On to some comics. About science.
