HAve you priced this list over at New Egg? www.newegg.com Mr Man won't buy from anyone else as their prices are rarely beaten and they deliver hella fast.

It looks like the first few items are at least $10 cheaper over there.

I recently priced a system between New Egg and Tiger. About $10/item - not enough for me to care. I have used Tiger extensively for years with no problems.

I might suggest a bit more cash at your disc - consider the Raptor 10K (RPM) - yields you 3X the buffers and data movement - if your apps are data movement hungry - you'll want it.

Otherwise - enjoy.

Me Personally, I'd consider a dual core Intel. I priced a system recently at about $800 with the OS. All on Tiger - let me know if you want the specs.

I think our next comp will be a Mac. I am sooo sick of the MS web o' bullshit. So, so, so sick of it. And my iPod is a quiet, completley obeiant piece of tech that does only what it does, but does it correctly, on request everytime ( ... )

Ah macs just baffle me ... I know how to work them, I just dont know why they exist LOL

I've bought stuff from TD before and have never had a problem. I may not buy all this stuff from them but I wanted to get a shopping cart together to see where I was at money-wise.

Linux baffles me too ... For the same reasons.

I will probably not be using IE on the new machine.

Yes it has been too long, miss you lots doll :)

Thanks for adding me :)

I don't care about the bling, the thing could be a black box and that would be fine with me but I want a liquid cooled case because of the heat issues I have due to where the case has to be in this wretched apartment. (Right in front of the electric heat baseboards)

I'll do some more comparisons on TD using the info you gave me tomorrow. Thanks for taking the time to give me you're feedback, I will email you when I run into trouble :)

Ah - I remember the heat issues now.

As others have said NewEgg is a really good website, but honestly google searches are your friend such as this one:
amd am2 vs core 2 duo

Once you know what you want, go through www.pricegrabber.com to find who has the cheapest and buy from there. I have some vendor recommendations there for people I have done business with over the years w/o problems (ZipZoomFly is good, NewEgg is good, Page Computers is good, etc...).

Happy hunting.
