So Far, I Haven't Been Bailed Out

I haven't been bailed out either. But, I took advantage of their greed and got what I wanted. Within my price range. Unfortunately, I was one of those responsible people. Then again, I got myself into a mess of trouble with the whole interest thing which I can't do anything about for a while because my credit went into the tank.

I'm more upset about the banks and insurance conglomerates who insured shitty loans telling me it is MY fault that they were greedy sonsabitches and if I don't help them oh boy is there going to be big trouble!!! There is an article in Tuesday's NY Times (3/3/09) about AIG from AIG and it made me throw the paper down in disgust. Essentially, "We have $19 trillion in holdings and if people lose faith and cash in then you are in big trouble mister mansypants."

WE are Mr. Mansypants. The people who took advantage of the situation and bought within what they could afford and then something shitty happened, those are the ones I feel most sorry for. People like me and people like my old roommie B. The ones who decided to buy that house in the foothills that was 3 times their monthly income, but HEY we can pay what we want with this nifty mortgage arrangement...well, those people are dumb suckers who didn't read the fine print.

But, hey, if the gubmint wants to give me a few grand for my mortgage, i'm more than willing to oblige. If the CEOs are getting a hand out, why can't I? *I* was responsible! I'd like to think of it as a bonus for being a non-dbag.
