End of month meme
It's been a quiet start to the week, with not a lot to report. Which I guess is just as well, given that the news is downright grim (Pointless is back on BBC2 which is always a sign of awful things being announced - though I think today's was an effort to argue with the genuine idiots who don't think we're seeing a second wave, which tbh I'd probably give up as a bad job). I've been setting myself up for a winter that's mostly alone and mostly at home - bought a semi-daylight lamp, an electric blanket throw that you can use in daytime, and I should have had some fluffy boot slippers, but they have been misdelivered - luckily, the tracking shows it clearly and another pair is on the way!

28 Is there a book or TV series that you enjoy, but acknowledge that it's not actually very good? What makes you love it enough to keep reading/watching?
There are a fair slew of books of particular types that I like (classic crime reprints and Regency romances) which are often not that brilliant as literary composition. I won't read someone who writes terrible prose, but often the plot isn't all that glorious (certainly that's true of most regencies!). They are like eating a Dairy Milk bar: sometimes you just want something pleasant and predictable, that will hit the synapses you want.
29 If you were your own best friend, what piece of unsolicited advice would you give yourself?
Ironically, given this year, to slow down and do less. Even now, I'm quite run off my feet on a fair number of days. I do like being busy, but I fairly often find myself rushing through something that I could have enjoyed, to get to the next thing on the list. Counterproductive stuff.
