Thanks for your good wishes to my dad. He needs them. Nothing is a disaster, but his problems are a bit grim, quite embarrassing for him and too prolonged be anything but dull all concerned. It's going to go on for a while longer now. Sigh.
I have had more fun birthday celebrations (there are others coming up, never fear - I'm having an elongated birthday across three weekends). Like last year, for example, when I was in the village for the weirdness of their Christmas shopping event, at which Santa rides up and down the high street three times on horseback and then sets up his grotto in the pub. There's a kids' trail with sweets, and all-item discounts in the shops and a lot of places randomly selling mulled wine on top of their usual wares. I missed it today, with other duties. So I'm re-posting seasonal photos of last year for fun.
