Dear
rarewomen writer. Brava! You have excellent taste in entertainment, and it's a pleasure to have you here.
The first thing to say is that there are no rules. I like to read what people like to write. I may have preferences, but if you get hooked on another tale that needs to be told, I'll probably get drawn in. I'm likely to be wary if it involves underage or explicit torture/non-con/slave-fic, but otherwise I'm easy. Gen is great - I love plot and character. Pairings are yummy too, and I've indicated a few combinations of these women in my signup that I'd be very pleased to see if you fancied exploring them. I'd happily take any number of canon and/or het pairings too, but I thought I'd focus on the f/f in my signup to keep the focus on the rare women. You should feel free to move away from that if femslash isn't your thing.
General stuff? I love history. I also love place - I love to be immersed in a fic so much that I forget where I'm sitting, and expect to see that world when I look up. The other thing I love is process: how things happen, why they happen, who loads the gun that kills the king, where they keep the loo roll for the coronation crowds... So if you want to get into backstory or worldbuilding I'd be delighted.
Oh, and applicable to all my requests: feel completely free to add in other canon characters. I don't hate characters, especially not in these works (Emma or Scarlett O'Hara, now...), and I'd love it if you wanted to bring in other people to your fic. These are people I want to read about, but they are also worlds I want to read about!
A few things about the fandoms and where I am with them, in case it sparks something for you.
Angel is my comfort zone; the Buffyverse is my primary fandom, but I decided to go with requesting Angel because I've read and written a lot of semi-rare women for Buffy and these characters are a bit less familiar. The whole noir-ish Angel feel is what really intrigues me and where I'd love to read more. The limited amount we learn about any of these women gives so much space to explore them between the few parts of their lives that make it to screen. Justine's first vampire; Harmony's first vampire meal; the Furies getting ready in a hurry and bickering over the bathroom; Gwen's client roster or apartment hunting; what happens to Bethany after we see her... just a few possible jumping off points.
SPN is still relatively new and shiny to me (I know, I'm very backward, fannishly-speaking). I love the early seasons, and am pretty much unspoiled for s7 so I'd appreciate a story that looks more at the business of hunting things, Azazel, demon matters, and a little less at the Heavenly War stuff. Except that I'm very interested in Anna and her experience of life on earth while being conscious of her angelic self, so if you'd like to look that way, yes please. Or, yanno, Pamela pwp. Because, hell yes. With anyone who makes her laugh and shares a good time. (*shuffles* Also, I have a total weakness for Dean and women. So any way you wanted to include him, without overshadowing your chosen woman/women, you should feel free to do that.)
The Vorkosigan saga is such a world of pleasure I don't even know where to begin, really. The different societies it encompasses are fascinating: something Betan or on Sergyar or Komarr would be fabulous. The semi-comic clash of social class is fab: Alys is terrifyingly classy and controlling, and she particularly fascinates me. But I also like how Bujold shows characters growing, developing, doing things they weren't sure they could do, so an episode which challenges one of these characters would be very welcome. I like these ladies in their marriages, so would be entirely happy with canon het here - it's much more available than for the rare women in the large fandoms, and I'm fine with that.
