Halp?
We are having a work picnic on Friday, I was told today. Thou Shalt Bring A Contribution. I've not been very well and evidently missed the announcement, so all the easy things I'd usually offer to do have been snapped up (drinks, plates, crisps, dips, cold cuts, quiche, sandwiches, sausage rolls, cake, fruit, salads). Could I do another savoury thing pls...
Um... My standby is a veggie frittata, which is an awful lot like the veggie quiche already nabbed. I could put ham in it. Otherwise, I'm stumped. Please bear in mind I have no car (and also no kids so virtually no large size Tupperware or other transport containers). I've been going through recipe books, but everything I have marked as 'someday, for guests' needs to be served hot. The delectable watermelon salad of earlier in summer is way too heavy and sloppy to carry on my 90 minute commute. I can cook perfectly well, but this isn't going to be a gourmet experience! Suggestions for easy, portable dishes which add some variety to the stodge above would be *so* gratefully received.
Not thinking about food? How about writing a little f/f instead? femslash_minis is gearing up for a reboot, and instead of the usual prompt/fill cycle we have a couple of weeks free for all to use as many or as few as we like of the remaining unclaimed round prompts. I am writing a Gwen/Harmony/Veruca post-Apocalyptic threesome...No, really. I think. But you could just write a little Slayer, Firefly or Dollhouse f/f and still be welcome. I hope something sparks for someone!
