Oh, bittersweet - and yes, a touch of angst to lighten the schmoop. As it should be, IMHO, although I soldier bravely on working on my own "candlelight dinner" ficlet striving for pure schmoopiness. :) Nicely done. I love your Wesley and Illyria.
LOL No, not yet. I'm thinking having your candlelight dinner interrupted by a couple of very stupid vamps might be grounds for setting them on fire... especially if dinner was progressing nicely into something more...
Won't read these yet, I'm up as far as Annie's first birthday in my orderly reading of the Rulesverse, and think I'll wait until I've finished, which shouldn't take me too much longer. Verdict so far: wish I didn't have RL stuff that stopped me from continuing to read.
Wow, you are motoring through! I'll be interested to hear what it's like reading in proper order, since I started writing somewhere about the middle of the timeline. I'm glad you're having a good time reading!
These are all really interesting, as your fic about Illyria tends to be! I hadn't thought about the sojourn in Cali as a way for the girls to be near their "other" family, but it makes perfect sense now. I understand Illyria's rage in this context: that of any almost parent without custodial rights.
Also, seeing Lorne caught flatfooted is pretty funny. Poor guy.
I don't think it was exactly Spike, Buffy or Wesley's plan, however close they got in reality. Illyria had *views*.
Ah, Lorne. I think his empath skills are waning (or possibly Wesley doesn't actually see those children as his destiny, which would be fair enough. Can you see me back-pedalling?)
