One of my current projects. Nature does a Fourier Transform of a 300nm gold crystal when we shine x-rays on it. The movie is the crystal being rotated to capture the third dimension of the transform of the object. Since we can only record the intensity, and not the complete wave with it's phase, we have to resort to iterative algorithms to invert the diffracton pattern and see the object. I spent a nice afternoon in the Naperville park working on this diffraction pattern and this is the result. The clear box is about the only piece of information given to the algorithm, besides the data.
