so... went wedding gown shopping last Saturday to just kinda gauge pricing and like what my seasoned friends said, it's around the ballpark of $4k for no huge surprise there....
Can't say that I had a moment, totally unlike what movies depict - when the salesperson draws open the dressing room curtains, the other half would be starstruck and tongue tied..
Think C was struck... but by my combination of a men's watch and cap with a gown, no starry-eyed look whatsoever, maybe more amazed at how... bad I looked
While I love window shopping, totally do not relish trying on gowns. For one, they are awfully heavy - all 3 I tried seemed to be slipping off me; second, you can't easily put them on, most require some help zipping up or something and last, it's just a hassle to remove clothes to try them on.
But I think the last may be because I've not seen The One yet. I wonder if there is sucha thing as The One Wedding Dress, an off the rack one that is.
But what I do know are my requirements:
- It can't slip, and I don't want it to be too tight or wear a corset thingy inside cos it's me wedding and I'll drink if I want to!
- I need to walk in it without help
- and I think I'd like a toga/grecian type of gown
either that, or I'd like to look like a giant birthday cake - all frills, frou, ruffles, beads and bows
