Lost!
ok, just watched the session finale of Lost and if you havn;t seen it, then you will have no idea what i'm about to talk about. lol. but i'm gana do it anyway...
The ending is extremely confusing, but thanks to my knowledge of sailing, i think i figured it out...
At the very end you see a group of Russians in what looks like a plane flying near the north(or south) poll. Then a sensor on a computer in the plane starts to blink, and they call desmond's past girlfriend (and love of his life) and say "i think we've found him." i assume that "him" is Desmond. His old girlfriend mostlikely hired the team of Russians to look for him for the last 3 years. I know this sounds unlikely but she has an almost infinite supply of money, and said ealier in the episode that she has the will and resources to do whatever it takes to find where he is.
Desmod may have just completely stopped this gigantic electromagnetic field on the island. Now... he came on a sailboat 3 years before, and all sailboats traveling in international waters are required by law to have a emergency GPS beacon which sends an emergency signal when it becomes wet. My dad has one on his boat. Desmond's old girlfriend knew that he had the boat, and the first thing she would look for is the GPS signal from it. The boat is at the island, so the strong magnetic field may have blocked the GPS signal from being received, but now that the magnetic feild is disabled, the signal can get through!!! meaning that the russions looking for Desmonds location can receive the signal and know where the island is!!!!! holy crap!!
