i keep forgetting (for like 3 months now) to mention finding a set of vintage cake pans for 99¢ at Thriftown. part of me never wanted to open them, but the other part said that they would be the best thing to use for hazel's party since all of my cake pans seem to have disappeared. p.s. i found them ALL at my mom's house this weekend. i dont know why they are there.
also, i opted not to make a three layer cake because that would border on wedding cake territory and that wouldve required wooden dowels cut to a specific size and blahblah-too-much-cake-decorator-info-blahblahblah. also good because there is still more than half of the bigger of the two cakes at my mom's house still. i need to go get a piece before it goes bad. banana cake = yum. we made the best banana cake at the bakery i worked with. mmmmmmm-memories.
anyway, hazel loved it, everyone was impressed, it took nearly zero effort, and it actually tasted good! yay! dont you hate when you see a cake somewhere, pay too much, take it home and it tastes like crap? blah.
