why is so hard for guys to close cabinets and turn off lights? its not like it takes any effort. open/close, off/on, easy/peasy.
we went so san jose today and paid the deposit at our reception site! yay!! i am happy than ever about this. this means no more pressure to find something cheaper, no more arguments about my sister, no more stress about how much longer i have to get other things taken care of and all of that crap! i'm so happy!
my mom was actually nice today, except when we were running a little late heading to her house--but hey, we have a life too, she cant have EVERYTHING her way.
afterward when we were talking about hazel's birthday party she mentioned looking at Big Lots! for luau supplies, which i had been considering going to because last night while cleaning and organizing for the Terminex guys visit, i found an old Big Lots! ad that had luau supplies for sale pretty cheap. so we all went over there.
i didnt really find anything luau themed besides some pretty nice plastic bamboo cups that were orange, green, pink, or purple for $2 a piece, but they weren't that fabulous, so i didnt get any. oh well, no big biggie. i did get some little debbie brownies though, i couldnt help myself. and Ghost World on video for $2, because we sold our dvd when we were super poor. my mom bought 20 or 22 really nice glass votive holders which i was really shocked that she offered to pay for.
so i guess things are going smoothly now. but we'll see. chances are something will happen like the resturant will burn to the ground or something next month and we'll have to start all over again, that would be jut my luck. :\
i'm getting annoyed because the catalog of the company that has the city design for the napkins and stuff still hasn't arrived. i dont want to have to choose any of my back up designs. its bad enough that their destination weddings catalog/website doesnt even have a big city option for invitations, its mostly geared toward beach, cruise ship, & vegas weddings, so i was quite lucky to come across the city/buildings design. i'm just ready to start ordering things and i want to know for sure that my design is still an option.
so the Terminex guys came today as we were leaving, but we left before they came in. they told us to just keep our door unlocked and that they would close it on the way out. you totally can't even tell if they were here. the floor is dry, there is zero poisony smell, nothing. but we know that they were here because they drilled these weird things into the cabinets and left MOUSE TRAPS on the floor! ew!! i've never seen a mouse in here EVER and hopefully we never will. the building owner, who was hovering outside our door when we got home said that if we ever see a mouse in the (safe) trap to call Terminex and they will come remove it. hopefully i will NEVER have to call.
and in other news....
mark says that his old obnoxious manager who mysteriously quit her job is now missing. i dont remember if i ever mentioned that one night after mark left work, the store was robbed. it was just the manager and the security guard there and the security guard was shot in the arm or something. AAAAANYWAY, sometime after this the girl got pregnant and then shortly after that she was suppose to me moving to washington with her mother. well she never showed up there and is now a missing person. (its been about 2 months) reports have been filed in washington and here in oakland. weird. i never liked her (because she was such a loud mouth and acted like she was still in 7th grade) but i hope nothing bad happened to her. oh yeah, and now everyone at work thinks that her and the security guard were having sex in the office late at night even though he has a wife and kids and they think that her baby is his and also because he and his family moved to nevada at the same time the manager girl was suppose to have moved to washington. so who knows what the real deal is.
mark also says that his grandfather let the maid "go". which i'm really glad they did. he said that he told her "we dont really have the money to pay you anymore because YOUR SISTER STOLE ALL OF OUR MONEY!!!" hahahaha!!!
ok. i need to go take all of our stuff off of the couches and back onto the floor. i really hope this terminex visit took care of the bugs because i never want to have to make sure all of our stuff is off of the floor/out of all of the cabinets ever again unless we are moving.
