Color War Day 1...July 22, 2005

Jul 24, 2005 10:21

- I showed up at 8 with Camia, and Bryan showed up too like I asked him too, Dan showed up on his own time.
-The breaking of Color War was poorly done in my opinion lol. I came in on Bryan's shoulders, holding the flag up, and my counselors were supposed to run in after us. My walkie was on the wrong station so I couldn't hear anything. We were supposed to come in on Alex and Betsy's 2nd pass, instead we came in on pass 4 lol. We walked slowly in and of course I'm the damn idiot that didn't have the flag turned the right way. Betsy tried telling me until I finally noticed and quickly turned it around. The counselors ran in and it was horrible, they didn't even do anything lol. It was really bad. We called out our kids on the teams and went to our first team meeting. Camia taught them some cheers that she pulled out of her ass.

I went with the Chai/Sports group. They were in the gym first for the obstacle course. So freaking funny. It was the highlight of my day. I had Todd cheering with the kids, Ragni was helping with a portion of the course, and Bryan was helping cheer also. I was running back and forth with the kids helping them, and getting laughed at because it was stressful work. I did the jumping jacks with them, and just ran the rest of the way. The best had to be when my French child, Ruben, he started the course with the jumping jacks and they weren't jumping jacks, they were something completely different. I saw Carl looking at him weird so I explained to them that he was from France and they may do it differently in France. Then he did the dizzy bat and went to go run to get the basketball and the next thing we knew he fell straight over on his ass haha. Carl and Kyle laughed for the like 20 minutes. I don't think that I have ever laughed so damn hard in my life. So, for the remainder of the day he would call my name, then imitate Ruben and fall on the floor lol. He also made a lovely little comment of "You taught him well." We ended up winning and I don't know how because we were behind like 2 whole kids in the beginning. Of course Spencer threw a damn fit because their team didn't win. During the whole time Kyle kept telling me not to tire myself out yet because later I was going to need my energy for the counselor games later and I didn't believe him. I was wrong. The next activity was in the theater, and Betsy and I found each other and just stuck around lol. We didn't really do anything but sit in the office and check on our kids periodically.

The counselor relay was strenuous as hell. We were so stupid all sitting there before it and stretching lol. You first had to do 15 jumping jacks, then 10 sit-ups, then 5 push-ups near a cake pan of whipped cream, then you had to crawl under or over a bench, then you had to do the dizzy racket 10 times, then weave yourself through 6 pins, then dizzy bat 10 times, and then you had to make one basket and potato sack all the way back. Oh man...It was tough. Of course, Kyle was sitting right there waiting for me to go and do my push-ups, in which he took my head and smashed it straight into the pan of whipped cream. He did it to most all of the other girl counselors but still. I always seem to get it the worst. He took a lovely picture of me, lol, disgusting. I got laughed at hopping back, then I fell past the finish line and just couldn't catch my breath. It was such a strenuous activity.

Memorable mentions:-
-Ragni falling twice, 2 different times, after weaving through the pins, lol. You can get really dizzy after twirling around so many times.
-Ricky Wiggs going UNDER the damn bench!!!!! HAHAHA
-Reina going UNDER the damn bench!!!! LOL
-Paydon and Dan Proach putting a pie in Kyle's face. He only caught one side of his face though, so he looked really funny. There was whipped cream everywhere and I smelled like it for so damn long.

Oh man..........I love it.

Love all!
