Chapter 2: If It Pleases You is here

If you read, please review! Sorry it's so long, I had lots of ideas!

To say that Alice had naughty dreams that night is an understatement. She was highly paranoid that her mother would hear something, anything, and figure out that Hatter was spending the night, so they didn’t ( Read more... )

No worries at all. I don't have an editor for my own Alice-themed original fiction (soon to be published), since I tend to so often be an editor for others. I know, I know -- one can surely do both, but it may be a silly pride thing. Even still, I know how difficult it is to also be your own editor.

So. So long as you don't find it utterly nitpicky, I'm happy to point out anything I find. Really, though, I love what you're doing with it -- carrying on the story to fill in the blanks over the obvious 'what ifs' that have popped up for us since its official end.

Now, however, I've got to get back to my own latest predicament: my drenched Alice's (since that's her official code-name) first meeting with my Hatter (since he ... is) in the courtyard of an abandoned FBI building where he is, no less, having tea. (Of course.)

But I ask you, if you faithfully follow the original tales enough, would not all Alices meet their Hatters in a drenched state (i.e., from the Pool of Tears-like experience) in some sort of modified Mad Tea Party? I'm inclined to think so.

So, really, it's just the whole Suits thing I have to worry about, since I have no desire to engage in a trademark war with SyFy.

(To specify, my own features government agents wearing typical G-men attire who are members of different divisions -- of course -- corresponding to the four card suits. 'Suits', in mine at least, is rather a play-on-words for the fact that it's used both in the 'federal agent' sense, and literally, for the cards. Mine do not have their ranks and card suits printed upon their actual suits, however. Rather, they wear rather expensive lapel pins to represent their classification -- number and suit.)

Aces are different, as they should be. Which I never quite followed in 'Alice'. They DID separate them from the rest, did they not? But in what capacity? Were they all strictly wet-works? Or did they simply run their divisions? Anybody catch that?

Anyhow ... Here's hoping it won't be THAT big of a deal. I had nothing to worry about prior to this, and now ... Well, fingers crossed. Sure, Nick Willing may have written his draft or treatment for 'Alice' prior to 2000 (my copyright and trademark date) -- but I'm doubting it.

Gah. Decisions, decisions.

Keep up the great work. I'm loving your story here. And if you'd ever like beta help -- don't hesitate to ask.

Wow! That sounds awesome! I might have you just give it a once over if you're ok with that! and vice, versa if you need a reader of course. :) I really appreciate it.
