My anniversary in bullet points

Sep 17, 2008 18:26

+ Stayed home in the morning to make breakfast: sundried tomato, goat cheese, and basil omelettes; strawberries, kiwi, and bananas in vanilla soy yogurt; and varied brioche from Sugar. After a brief spell at work for an overlong company meeting, came home to a deliciously sexy wife in a freshly acquired thrift store dress with matching shoes and makeup.

+ Went to Chez Gaudy, catching compliments from the people outside of The Crescent when we walked slightly too far. Had dinner, wine, and two desserts despite a lost reservation. Spotted the adult version of the daughter in Californication. Planned for world domination through the future expansion of Denise's commercial empire. Listened to most of the second Cibo Matto album over the house speakers, which led to us finding out just how many of our friends are Buffy geeks. (Kudos to Liz for first response!) Accidentally left behind a crazy wine bottle that seemed like it probably had sand embedded in the surface; if there were a wino video game, it would've been the upgraded weapon.

+ Joined the trivia crew at Clever Dunne's in time for the last two rounds. Won a glowy thing after yelling "I rave so hard!" and "I'm very loud!" I thought I was clever for remembering that something was by Miami Sound Machine, but Gloria Estefan was accepted anyway. Ang nearly killed the host over a jumping bean issue. Props to Jack for knowing about Eisenhower's pajamas.

+ Got all dranked up at The Crescent. Couldn't get the karaoke host to sing Elvis for us since the queue was all full up, but Denise and I both got all of our songs called, a drastic departure from the normal order of things in which neither of us gets to go anywhere near the mic. Found out that songs beginning "Let's..." work out pretty well for me.

+ Headed home for an appropriate close to our first year as a married couple. Woke up with a reminder to drink a little more water in the coming year.

365 down, the rest of my life to go, and I can't imagine anyone else I'd rather do it with. Thanks for making every day wonderful, baby.

anniversary, denise
