hi, i saw a post you made awhile back in a Courtney Love community. I'm a drop out too and am going to be taking the GED. Have you taken yours yet? and how was it if you have?
Really? I'm 18 now and getting ready to take it so I can go to college. I'm really nearvous because I haven't been in school for a few years, but I did well when I was in school. 4.0 average, mostly A's, and did really well in English. My weakness is math. I've heard from a lot of people that it's easy, but I'm really freaked out just because I haven't been in school for 2 years now. Your mind kinda starts going numb after awhile. Haha! I hope it's easy, I guess I'm just really nearvous.
Yeah, it sucks. Because I want it now and I cant get it for like another 6 months. What type of college do you want to go to? Because I hear you can take classes at Community Colleges without a GED. I know what you are talking about though with being nervous. When I think about it, I'm always nervous about it. Thinking I'm not going to pass it ever. And also about how your mind goes numb after a while of not being in school. Mine seems to do so also.
The only advice I have to give is to buy a GED book from Barnes and Noble's or something of the sort and just work on that. When I did and acctually sat down and did it with Greg (boyfriend) who helped me alot with it without giving any answers away. But after you see how easy the book protrays it and how you still remember everything. You get more optimistic about it.
I'll have to look into getting a book. I'm planning on just going to a Community College because it only costs about 2 grand a year, which is really cheap compared to how inflated Universitys are nowadays. I'd like to go to school and come out with some money left in my pockets.
