Check it out on Christmas Day

Dec 23, 2006 12:18

I usually don't post about the process of doing my comic strip, "Bear With Me", because I'm as guilty as many of promoting myself.

I just uploaded Monday's strip. Thanks to my friend, Manny's help, I can upload a strip days, even weeks in advance, yet it won't be seen until the day I specify. This feature helped me get through the weeks of "Nutcracker's" tech week and the performances without suffering total overload.

Monday's strip is the most technically involved strip I've done to date, involving importing of images, color-fill, and painting. I know that those well-versed in Photoshop will look at my efforts and sniff that it's Totally Amateur Hour. It is. Artistically, I know my strip is a piece of crap. And, yet....people buy into it. Guys have logged on to my site, read the stories, and have been asking me for MONTHS when Andy and Paul are going to get together. Last week, they finally gave voice to their feelings, and there was a major cheer. This week, I'm posting a secondary reaction. Think of it as my Christmas gift to y'all. I honestly didn't consciously plan it that way; but storyline and the calendar simply fell together.

Merry Christmas, guys. Major huggage all around.
