Rehearsals help
Brought my borrowed copy of "Messiah" with me to church choir rehearsal last night, and ran through "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth". Our choir director arranged to have the piece transposed down a full step, and the difference was marked: It suddenly "fit" my voice. While before, it seemed to show off every unsupported note, every wart, mole and crack in my range, change the key, and suddenly it glows.
OK...so the opera world is NOT beating down my door, but my confidence in being able to present a decent performance of this piece has been bolstered considerably.
