What up
Weekend is over, and sleep is definitely something i would like to have at this point in time. But instead I am stuck at work and bored outta my mind... So I will update this thing now..
Wrestling wise, weekend was busy. Did the FIP show on Friday nite. I was totally not thrilled with the match one bit.. We had never worked Double Deuce, and I had never been in the ring with Marcus and I had been in the ring with Frankie twice ever... The match I guess was okay for what it was, which was a trial run of sorts to see if we could make this thing work up at Wildside the following nite. I dont like the feel of FIP. The wrestlers are great at doing moves, and the wrestling aspect of it. But as I have said time and time again, many guys are lacking the other things of importance such working a crowd, charisma and look. I just feel weird when I walk into a lockeroom and look like Batista compared to everyone else. But I guess that works to my advantage, as the less workers that want to commit their lives to dieting right, and working out and giving themselves a good "look", the more opportunity I will have when it comes down to it.
Saturday we took the LONG trip up to Cornelia Georgia. First time up there in 3 yrs, the enviornment was the same. Did recognize a few faces. Found out we were curtain jerking (which I was more than happy to do, so we could jet outta there early). The Wildside crowd was actually close to 200 fans (which is almost triple a normal wildside crowd) and they are usually very hard to please, as they are very stand-offish towards the out of town guys. Rod, Ron and I walked thru the curtain, and to our suprise many of the fans knew who were. Once we got started and went into the heat, we worked the crowd and they were very responsive. Match was a little different than the FIP show and was 100% better. Hot tag and finish got over well with the crowd. I must give props to Marcus Dillon, as he is very athletic, and is 10 lbs heavier then me. I thought I was the only heavyweight left in the country that could move, but he can. He took the backflip over me spot- into the SOLID BUSTIN (the belly to back diamond cutter I do on occasion), which many guys are scared to take. He took it both nights. I would really like to work a singles match with him one day down the road, because I think he could do well as a singles wrestler also. He can move and is big, and I like that.
We stuck around for a little while, bullshitted a little bit with Bill Behrens (who has become pretty fuckin cool over the years), and watched an excellent 3way match w/slim j vs jay fury vs Fast Eddie. Fast Eddie is incredible, especially with the fact that he is legally blind. How the hell he does it I really do not know, but he is good, as is Jay Fury. During the match the wildside crowd started chanting "Marco........Polo" towards Eddie. That is by far the funniest/cruelest chant I have ever heard.
WE left and got back to tampa around 630 this morning. Not a bad car ride back.. overall not a bad trip. Was pleased with the match on the second nite.
Nothing else really going on. Next show for me is NWA-FL show on April 9th vs Jerry Lawler.
In the meantime just gonna stay busy at the gym and at work.. looking forward to no wrestling and spending time with Amy next weekend...She is by far the best girl in the world. For Easter she got me an easter basket filled w/protein bars and Ready to Drink Protein shakes...along with some NERDS (the best candy ever). Caught me totally off guard but it was nice to come home to her and that. I never met a girl like her in my life. She is all about making me happy and I try to do the same for her. She is supportive towards EVERYTHING I do. ITs tough to find the right one (1 failed marriage tells me that), but I think I have found her.
Oh well, enough of that sappy bullshit.
Ultimate fighter KOSCHECK VS SANCHEZ tommorow nite. Cant wait for that shit. My boy Josh is gonna pull it off.
Good talk!
