Yesterday, I met Betsey Johnson.
I actually waited in a short line to meet her. Because she was the reason I ever even cared about fashion.
I didn't know what to say, but it made me realize if this 60-something year old can look so crazy and fun, what am I in a rush for?
Why was i so quick to give up my pink hair...and get rid of my piercings and "grow up" or look grown up. I'm so worried that I may not be taken seriously if my hair is a crazy haircut, or color, or if my eye make up at work is blue and i wear bright red lipstick. I gave up my 5 inch platforms, but if a 64 year old designer born in Connecticut can wear 5 inch platforms, I can wear 5 inch platforms.
I just realized just because you age, doesn't mean you always have to fit the part of the norm. I want to be 64, and still be wearing black vinyl stilettos with red lipstick with skinny jeans. Why not?
