Post Pride

So I went to my first Denver Pride yesterday and it was pretty wild! I'd never been around so many gay people in my life!

I decided to wear something gay, so I took one of my collared shirts and cut the sleeves off. I paired that with some cameo shorts and flip flops. While it certainly wasn't the gayest outfit there, it was pretty fabulous.

Addie, Christina, Angie, and I had the pleasure to stand next to protestors. I'm sure I don't have to illustrate. But it was amazing for me to see the juxtaposition to the protesters version of God "love" and the gay version of God love. The gays were much warmer, much nicer, and much more welcoming than the crazy Christians.

I'll have to slap up some pictures of the parade. I really need to get a digital camera, it costs money to put up pics from my phone. I'll have to ask Addie to send me some.

After the parade everyone reconvened to the park where the gayness continued. Men walked around in leather straps and underwear and nothing else. Women paraded around in shorts with little stickers over their nipples and nothing else. There were so many toned bodies, but what else could you expect at a gay gathering?

I met up with Sujeet and his friend Mike and we all decided to get something to eat while waiting on the girls. While eating, Jamie and her mom and friends arrived and we reconvened to the shade. After that Sean showed up and we told a few Michael Jackson jokes (asking when he was going to come back as a zombie). Sujeet, Mike and I decided to check out the half naked guys dancing on a little platform. One guy had this crazy mad toned body! He was like a little action figure!

After that Addie and the others showed up for a while before going to Starbucks to pee. Me and the boys went to the big stage to check out a gay assed (I mean seriously gay, the performers were sweating rainbows) dance routine before Sujeet and Mike split.

I waited for Wayne to show up then he and I regrouped with Jamie and her crazy friends ( I think everyone should me ChiChi, he's awesome). Wayne split soon after since Pride apparently wasn't his thing. I asked if he saw anything he liked, he said no. There were guys of every variety: bears, leather, twinks, muscle heads, short guys, tall guys, guys with dogs, older guys, chubby guys, brothas, Latinos, straight guys, red heads. How could you not see anything you like? But then again he wasn't there long.

After that I hung with Jamie and her crew for a while before meeting up with Addie. Jeff, Angie, and I walked to Chili's to get some chow. On our way back we got a text message from Addie saying that she and Christina had split because of drama. Angie flirted with a lovely lady and she and Jeff decided to go to the movies. At that point the sun had drained most of my energy and I decided to head home.

I took a shower and discovered that I had gotten a bit of a sunburn, but it was worth it since I had the farmer's tan going on.

All in all a good time was had. All of the gay theatrics weren't really my style, but it was fun to just get out and explore my community.

Can you imagine how much sex was had last weekend? Whew. I hope everyone used protection and got tested beforehand. Would really suck to have some good good sex only to discover a nasty little consolation prize that takes a week to ten days to clear up.

Peace. Out.

P.S. Here's the link to my Examiner.com page! My photo and bio were somehow misplaced or something, but should be up soon. Read, comment, and tell your friends to do the same.
