"So Intrigued By the Things You Do"
Why is my writing so dark?
So I've started back with my writing and it feels really good. It takes my mind off of things that I really shouldn't be giving so much time and attention to. I know that the more I write the better I'll become at it, I just have to remind myself that if I want to be a write I HAVE TO WRITE!! I know this is common sense, but I become distracted easily and put my writing off for later.
I think I'm best at writing hard-boiled detective-esque noir novels. I like writing fiction, science fiction and dark fantasy, but it takes too long for me to build the world and the characters, their wardrobe and all that good stuff. Not to say that I'm going to stop writing the genre, just that I now realize that I have to dedicate at least a week or more to throughly build the world until it is as real as our own.
I'm enjoying my laptop so very much. The screen is glossy, the keys velvet smooth to the touch. Such an upgrade.
Summer classes start in a couple of weeks and I'm actually not dreading it. I have one online class that I didn't know was online until I got a letter in the mail and a regular class for my first session and two regular classes the second session. I'd rather not have online classes, but if I change classes now they'll charge me for it.
And after summer classes I'll be taking my final semester. I won't have to go to college any more, I'll be naked and vulnerable before the world. That's beyond crazy to me.
